Simply the best
I have lifted weights any way you can, free weights, cable stacks, and nautilus machines. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. I have owned a home gym(a soloflex machine, a good machine because of the iron plate adaptability, up to 400 lbs)and I have also been a member of a good gym. I stopped using free weights because of lower back problems(loading and unloading plates puts direct stress on the lower back). In the gym I used nautilus machines mostly and cable stacks. The cables stacks are good with any exercise. The problem is the frame for the cable stacks is large and unless you are rich with a huge room reserved for exercising, owning a cable stack machine is not feasible. The nautilus machines are a different story. Some machines are good and some are not. The best nautilus machines I have used in the gym are the life fitness machines. These machines for some exercises are more difficult than free weights(unless your lifting huge weight, over 300 pounds on chest and legs). If you don't believe me use a life fitness chest press machine and set the weight to the same weight you lift using free weights and you will see. The bodycraft xpress pro is a composite of the cable stacks and the life fitness type feel machines in the gym. I have owned the bodycraft for a week and there is no home gym(and I have used several)that compares to this one. The price is steep, but if you are a member of a gym you will pay your gym fee monthly forever(if you are a true gym rat). The bodycraft xpress pro is a one time fee with a lifetime warranty on any cable or part. Company's don't do this if their machines are not top quality.(This would be bad business) The cable arms are just one of the features that makes this machine top of the line. These arms allow a full range of motion on any conceivable exercise(and there are over 50 with just this part of the machine alone, you can check a bodybuilding book to see this fact) The bench press arm completely adjusts to any size user for the flat(vertical) bench, incline bench, shoulder press, and seated row exercises. This provides the full range of motion for all of these exercises. The leg extension/leg curl exercises is also top quality on movement and range of motion. The lat pulldown feature allows for any type of pulldown movement and variation, all with full range of motion. The most impressive feature for me(a man who at one time was bench pressing 405 lbs, 8 fourty five pound plates plus the fourty five pound olympic bar) is the 2:1 feature which gives a benchpress of 400 lbs. This is the only home gym on the market I am aware of that can do this. If you don't think this machine is real, go to the bodycraft website([...]) and find a dealer in your area. If you are lucky they might have the machine already set up so you can see for yourself. I was able to do this. After trying the flat(vertical) bench and incline bench, brother was working up a sweat and breathing hard(felt good). If you can't find a dealer where you can try the machine you can take my word for it!!!!! There is only one drawback(if it applies to you). I am 6'3 and the ab station is uncomfortable for me even with the seat at the lowest point. The high pulley takes care of this for me. Attach the ab strap to the high pulley and perform the crunch like a cable crunch in the gym. Even when you think you have a problem with this machine you don't. Can't go wrong with this....
I am a bit of an Amazon junkie, but this is my first review. I just added this xpro to my home gym and it is fantastic. I cheated by paying someone to set it up for me, and it took an experienced person 8 full hours (would have taken me 2 times that). So be prepared for that. And this may be on the pricey side but, WELL worth it. You can tell it is a quality product that will last for a very very long time. The first time I ordered through Amazon, it was out of stock with the vendor I went through...then switch to another vendor and same thing. I then got a call from Bodycraft who arranged to get it to me working with the supplier. The Bodycraft person was extremely helpful and professional. Like I said, I don't write reviews, but this is a piece of equipment my whole family will get a lot of use out of. And as for myself, I have wrestled, boxed, and done martial arts - so I have high expectations from work out equipment. You can't go wrong with this.... rock solid
Is everything I thought it would be. Something to note: It was packed by the manufacturer extremely well and I'm glad it was for when it arrived the boxes were really beat up. I was afraid that there would be damage or parts missing for the boxes looked like they'd been through Hell. Fortunately, everything was fine. Again, thanks to BodyCraft. They make a great product and they take the care to pack it well enough to withstand a real beating in shipping. Nothing inside was missing or damaged. this aint another clothes rack
it took 2 weeks for my machine to arrive at my house in semi-rural oklahoma, not too bad. there were 3 huge boxes and 4 small ones, in all it took me about 10-12 hours to construct over my 2 day weekend. i gave the machine its own room, and at 7 feet high and 7 feet long it wont be comming with me should i ever move. this is not some casual machine you buy and then leave in a corner collecting clothes; at this price and size, you have to make a commitment to actually use it. putting it together wasnt the hardest thing i've ever done but it was a challenge. i found 3 typos that mislabled some of the bolts and where they go (not bad at all if you saw some of the reviews for other machines i've read out there), but one of the typos almost made me ruin the seat to the machine. if i find a way to let the manufacturer know about them i'll try to save you the trouble i went through. all in all i didnt have a hard time putting it together, just make sure you have a good socket set, and some wrenches (sae type). would i recommend this machine to others? only if i thought they would use it because this thing is a monster. theres not a single gym anywhere near where i live, and i'm tired of my clothes leaving marks on my body once i take them off (you know what i mean). so i would say get this machine only if youre serious about getting in shape. now i gotta go, i'm late for my workout. Well Thought Out
Somebody put a lot of thought into the Bodycraft Xpress Pro machine. I owned a Wieder 9600 for many years, and though it was a relatively good machine for the money, it had numerous drawbacks. The Bodycraft has none. It’s as though a group of people who had used a variety of different weight stack units got together and made two lists; one of all the things that annoyed them and another of everything that they wanted in a weight stack home gym. Then they went to work and build the machine they envisioned. This unit is comprehensive in what it allows you to do. There are more than 40 individual exercises for the arms, back, chest, legs, etc. In addition, you can do numerous variations on many of the base exercises. In this way one can find the best, most effective way to do an exercise. The seat, press arm, seat back, and cable pulley arms are all adjustable. Consequently, your body is correctly positioned to do each exercise and to optimize its effect. Furthermore, the travel of the cables and the weights is so smooth that the exercises seem easier to execute. And the machine’s design facilitates the set up of each exercise. This shortens the amount of total exercise time. It’s all very well thought out. Though one could conceivably do some variation of the leg and calf presses using the cables, I think it would prove difficult. Consequently, we also purchased the leg press extension option. That was a good decision. The quality of this machines construction is such that it carries a lifetime guarantee. There are a lot of products out there that promise a lifetime guarantee; however, once you see the quality of the materials used in this unit and the way they have been engineered, you’ll understand how Bodycraft could offer such a comprehensive product warranty. It’s very heavy duty. My wife and I assembled the entire machine by ourselves. I am not new to assembling products; I’m methodical in my approach. However, the people at Bodycraft appear to be very methodical as well. All of the nuts, bolts, screws etc. were individually packaged and clearly labeled. The directions were well written and easy to follow. And the order of assembly was logical. The only area that required some clarification was the cable runs, and the guys from the outlet center where I bought the unit were very helpful in this regard. It took my wife and me several hours to assemble it, but this was not due to poor directions or the ensuing confusion. There were a lot of parts and, as with anything with which one is unfamiliar, it just took time. You’ll need two 9/16 wrenches and perhaps a few other tools. But the nut and bolt sizes were for the most part standardized, and this simplified things. A ratchet set as well as the pass-through ratchet/box wrench set proved very helpful. My wife and I have been exercising with this machine for the last two months. It really is everything we hoped that it would be and more. The machine came with a chart and a video which make the setup and performing of the exercises easy to understand and execute. As I said at the beginning, somebody really put a lot of thought into this machine, and it shows. We both can see and feel the results, and neither of us are spring chickens. My wife is 72 and I’m 70. But don’t think that this is a machine for seniors. It’s definitely not that. I don’t care how old or young you are, I believe this unit will meet your needs. For example, though the weight stack goes to 200 lbs., for both the arm press and the leg press you can double that number to 400 lbs.; not exactly light weight in any sense of the word.
